VOLUNTEER NOW Background check fee will increase in November. Apply now before it does! Starting Nov. 2018, the price for Polk County Public Schools’ volunteer background checks will increase from $25 to $40.
WHY THE INCREASE? To coincide with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, we’re tightening security measures to protect our students, faculty and staff. The increased price for background checks will include:
• National background check • Social Security number verification
• Address verification
• Multiple name/alias check
• Terror watch list check
OTHER CHANGES • Volunteers are now required to reapply and renew their background check every 5 years from the date of their application approval.* If your background check is outdated, or if you do not have a background check on file, you will not be able to volunteer after the new RAPTOR Volunteer Management System goes into effect in November.
